It' will probably interest readers to know that, as was done in the casevof the Sheffield Choir, arrangements are being made to run a special train in connection with the performances of the Quintan Grand Opera Company at Auckland. The season will open on December 8, and the repertoire will comprise Rigoletto, Tales of Hoffman, Aida, Faust, Tristan and Isolde, Tannhauser, Carmen,. Cavalleria Rustioana, Pagliacci, and Samson and Delilah. It is a list such as New Zealanders rarely have the privilege of hearing. In connection withh the -visit to Auckland, Purser and Son, agents of the Dresden CJompany, in Hawera, have been notified of the* special arrangements that are being made to enable subscribers throughout New Zealand to book seats - before the box plan opens on December 3. Anyone applying before November 21 may book seats-at 15s each if he books for the .whole season, and at one, guinea each for less than the whote season.
