EXAMPLE IN DISCIPLINE.
Sir George Patey, the Admiral of the Australian fleet, set a good example in discipline at a sailors' dance in St. Ceorge's Hall, Newton (says the Sydney Morning Herald). Master as he is of the art of manoeuvring ships at naval stations, Sir George evidently recognised on the occasion of the dance given by the crews of the flagship Australia and H.M.A.S. Sydney that in a ballroom procession the direction of affairs may be left to the master of ceremonies, who on this occasion was a sailor. Accordingly the Admiral, who, with aladj headed the procession of 100 couples, gave an admirable instance of amenability to discipline in the manner in which he explicitly followed the directions of the seaman, his Excellency, judging by his beaming countenance, thoroughly enjoying the experience. Sir George was quite equal to the exigencies of a two-step movement around the ballroom, negotiated amid the strains of VWhat's the Matter With Father."
