KAPONGA.
TENNIS MEETING
The annual meeting of the Kaponga Tennis Club was field on Thursday evening. Dr. Tovey (president) was in the chair. There was only a small attendance of members. After, the balance sheet had been adopted the following officers were elected for the ensuing year: President, Rev. Mr TUnds ,■; vice-presidents, Dr. Tovey, Messrs Walker and Death; secretary and treasurer,, Mr W. B. Aston; committee, Mesdames Baigeht, Hartley, Walker, McGuire, and Severne, Messrs Reynolds, Faull, Bridge, and officers ex officio; selection committee,. Dr. Tovey, Messrs Death, and the President ; auditor, Mr Bennie. Several new members were elected. A committee was set up to arrange .for the re-covering of the courts. The annual Subscription was fixed a;t £1 for men and 45s for ladies. It was decided to hold an American tournament every fortnight on. Thursday afternoon. The meeting concluded with a hearty vote of thanks to the retiring president and secretary (Dr. Tovey and Mr Hislop). The prospects for the coming season ar© regarded as satisfactory, and plenty of new members are offering.
