(Received Nov. 15 y 10.40 a.m.) NEW YORK, Nov. 14. The i remains of a mastodon were found 150 feet beneath the surface at Seattle when hydraulic machinery was excavating for the new sports stadiure. Professor Bretz, of the State University, believes that such monsters were common in the pre-historic "ages on the Coast. None" have hitherto been found on the coast, however.
