MEETING IN NEWTOWN PARK.
WELLINGTON, Nov. 13. About two thonsand people attended a meeting in Newtown Pa rick. Addresses were given by Mr P. Hickev, "W. T. Mills, J. Payne, M.P., aiid several others, but no motion was adopted. All the speakers declared that though the leaders were in prison, and though others niiclit be arrested, there were plenty to fiFl their places, -and the fight would, go on. None.of the strikers wotild go bacli to work •till they won the battle and got what •they wanted. Themen waiting; in gaol, were happy, and those who were fighting the cause outside steed not,be disinaved. '■•■ The Mctnna got away at 10 n.m. The Drapers' Union decided not to accept the invitation to participste in *h<? general sti-ike, but 4he members will give a voluntary levy to assist in cases of distress among srikers' ■families. ; ...
