HAPPY ENGLAND.
A busy King's Counsel has little time \or scenery during his career at the Bar, ' but Mr Wise has returned to Australia with some impressions of an English spring, which are vividly expressed. After his work in the Privy Council he allowed himself a holiday in the country. "It was." he said, "the most gorgeous spring known for years. The island simply beamed and glowed. It is, I think, eharaetvri.stie of England, that she has always the best of everything. Even its weather, when it is good, is not relatively, but absolutely, better than anything to be found in any other part of the world. It is very English that the average should not be so high as in some parts of the world, but its best is—always the best."
