During last week an arbitration case was heard in New Plymouth, which excited considerable local interest, more especially in the building trade, thr* parties being tho well-known firm of Boon Bros, and Mr W L Luscombe, a retired farirer who was for many yesv\s resident on the* Hawera side of the mountain and who has now settled down in New Plymouth. The arbitrators are Messrs F. P. Corkill and W. Goodland (chairman of the Hawera County Com cil;, who have associated with them as umpire Mr J. Austin. Messrs Govett and Quilliam represent Messrs Boon Bros., and Mr Halliwell, of Hawera, is acting for Mr Luscombe. Voluminous evidence has been taken ,and it is anticipated that an award will be made early this week.
