Lang (Manukau) to-day for the term of this Parliament. It had been expected that Mr T. H. Davey (Christchurch Efiit) would be nominated by the Oppusiticn, but this was not done/ and as nobody else had been thought of for the position, the election occupied but a moment. Tt was moved by Mr W. F. Massey, who referred briefly to the excellent services rendered by Mr Lang during his eighteen years of Parliamentary experience.
Mr Lang, in tendering his thanks, stated that the honor was unsought. His highest ambition was that he should so conduct himself in the chair as to have it said that he had been absolutely impartial. Mr G.W. Russell and Mr D. Buddo congratulated Mr Lang on behalf of the Liberals They agreed that he was. able and impartial.
