SUPREME COURT.
. AUCKLAND, June 10. At the Supreme Court a Maori named J aneroro Tamate, for rape at Tauranga was sentenced to ten years imprisonment, with hard labor; and Annie Stranger, for procuring abortion, to five years. A decree nisi was granted in the case of Thomas William Lindsay v. Amy Lindsay and George Hansen, co-respon-dent.
WANGANUI, June 10. ±ne bupreme Court opened this morning. Mr Justice Cooper, in his address to the jury, congratulated the district on the practical absence of crimethere being only two criminal cases' Uie Grand Jury found true bills against Aicholas Joseph Winders for alleged misappropriation of insurance moneys 3, ntl against Joseph Moore for alleged theft from the person. °
