THE DAVIS CUP.
AUCKLAND, Jan. 20. Lamed, in an interview yesterday, stated that he did not believe that Waider made an announcement that America would not compete for the Davis Cup, except on American soil, or that if he said anything-it was not in the way the cable suggested. The conditions of the Davis Cup were definitely fixed and cannot be altered.
