STRATFORD v. MANAIA A.
In this match Stratford won the toss, and Manaia, took the field. Stratford put up 136, and the chief scores were: Dunlop, 34; Boyes, 29; E. Jackson, 16; .Twohili, 18; Richmond^ 12; Hedditch, 1-5 (not out); extras, 6. Dunlop showed fine batting form, hitting.three 6's. Hedditch and Boyes also showed good form, fielding well. Bowling: Prince, none for 28; Howard, none for 21; Meuli, three for 25; Cosgrove, one for 19; Gorringe, four for 31; Stapleton, none for 6. Duncan bowled one ball in the last over, and got 1 for 0, with a fine catch by Bullock. Seven of the Stratford men were caught, several of them being very good one-handed catches. The Manaia A scores were 65 for six wickets. The chief scorers were Gorringe 28 (not ou,t), Prince 15, Rev Father Bergin 13, Howard 5, Cosgrove 1, Stapleton 0, Bullock 0, Meuli 0 (not out), extras 3. At the call of %ime Manaia drew with four wickets to fall. Gorringe played a very steady game, and he gave no chances and showed fine batting. The Rev Father Bergin also shaped well, and hit his first ball for' six, but was unfortunate in bitting his own wicket. Prince struck: .sood form, and batted well. Bowling: Twohili, three for 38; Prebble, one for. 20 : Dunlop, two for 4. Stratford supplied afternoon tea and light refreshments, which were much appreciated by the visitors. '
