, SYDNEY, Jan. 19. Isew South Wales banking averages for the' December quarter show a di'op of | per cent, in the proportion of cash to liabilities on the quarter. The September quarter was excessive. The total deposits on the year increased £5,263,----000, and the advances increased £6,540,----000 on the year—ls per cent.

The half-yearly meeting of the Commercial Banking Company showed a profit of £119,390. A 7 percent, dividend, for the past six months, making 10 per cent: for the year, was declared. It was decided to increase the capital from £1,550,000 to £1,375,000.
