UNSCRUPULOUS EMIGRATION AGENTS.

Brown, an. emigration agent, was arrested at Nelson, Lancashire, on December 28 on a charge of having obtained money on false pretences in connection with,forged testimonials for a farm laborer emigrating to: Australia." The Agents-General co-operated in the prosecution. . .
A high Canadian emigration authority, interviewed by the Pall Mall Gazette, stated that the number of unscrupulous agents had enormously increased, and a series of prosecutions are proceeding. .
Brown has now been remanded, and the Magistrate at Nelson will hear the case on the 30th inst. There are thirty witnesses.
