SWIMMING CARNIVAL.
By way of an opening ceremony in connection with the swimming season the Hawera Amateur Swimming Club decided upon holding a swimming carnival, and this event will take place at the baths this evening. Special arrangements for extra lighting ha.ye been made and an attractive programme arranged, which includes races in which all last season's champions will compete, ladies' races, diving exhibitions,, and water polo. ± Jroceedings commence at 8 o'clock.
