You'll soon know!" "Deary, deary me!" gushed the lady, as she handed over the money. "It's a lovely bird! But what does it mean by 'You'll soon know!' I wonder?" "It's only blemish, mann!" smiled the bird man, pocketing the thirty- , five bob. "You may be surprised to 'ear it, but 'c's got it into 'is 'cad, mann, that everybody's wonderful anxious ter find out wot a missionary sez when, 'c 'its 'is thumb with an 'ammer!"
