The Speech from the Throne foreshadowed Government control of the grain elevators on the Great Lakes, model highways throughout the provinces, scientific methods of teaching agriculture, the formation of a tariff commission to govern alterations of the tariff on a scientific basis.

The Liberal Government was defeated in Prince- Edward Island in two byelections. The Premier (Mr Palmer) lost his seat.
