AUCKLAND POST OFFICE
WELLINGTON, Aug. 1. , The Department of Railways has withdrawn its objection to the erection of the ornamental arches which were included in the original design of the new post office for Auckland. The Hon. Mr Millar yesterday stated that it was decided to withdraw the objection, though the Department considered the arches would enormously hamper the traffic between the station and Queen street. The arches are to be 47 feet high, with openings of 20 feet width.
