Sir,—ln your issue of Wednesday last there is a paragraph to the effect that a representative meeting of dairy factory employers held a Hawera on the previous day had decided to ra^se the wages of factory assistants to something like the level of the old Taranaki award. The following letter has been sent to the secretary of the Employers' Union and speaks for Or!u i Z may sa7 tllat since forwarding the letter we have received full particulars as to the extent of the increases etc., decided on and they are now under consideration by us.—l am, pi + *r ,J' ROBERTSON. Harry Perm, Dear sir,—Re the meeting held at Hawera on Tuesday, 25th, it is verygratifymg to us to have your Union recognising ours in such a practical fashion as to accede to our demand for higher wages. The value of tne concessions we are not at present in a, position to judge, and in order that we* may have an opportunity of doing so, we will be glad if you will forward us a, statement of the scale of wao-es eec agreed upon.
