MEMORIAL TO LORD CLIVE.

The newly erected Church House and Institute at Moreton Saye, near Market Drayton, Shropshire, was formally opened, following the dedication service conducted by the Bishop of Lichfield. A tablet bears the inscription: "For the service of God and in memory of Robert Baron Clive of Plassey, X.8., founder of the British Empire in India, who was born at Styche-in-Woodlands, in this parish, A.D. 1725, this Church House was built by Lady Mary Herbert and other parishioners and friends, A.D. 1911." Lord'Clive was educated at Market Drayton Grammar School, and his remains lie in the churchyard at Moreton Saye, pnly a few yards distant from the structure now erected to his memory.
