ON A RAFT.

DISCOVERED BY MAORIS

BY TELEGBAPH—PBESB ASSOCIATION,

WAIROA, July 31

News was received this morning that the two men Higgins and Baker who attempted to cross the Waikaremoana on a raft last week were discovered by Maoris and were in a feeble condition. They were taken ashore to a pah and cared for. But for this timely discovery they must have died. The weather was bitterly cold on the lake.
