LFEOM OUE OWN COEEESPONDENT.] On Thursday last the Kaponga R.C. held a competition for the Discuit barrell trophy, which was won by J. Muller (retired) 14 The social and dance in con lecticn with the above club promises to be a great success, and all dancing euihusiasts are anxiously looking rnrward to the night of August 3 (Thursday n«-:xt). The Misses Robinson and Mr Ruslitcn will supply the dance music, and tno Misses Robinson, Mts Johnson (Wellington) and Messrs Reader and Rushton will supply items towards the concert part of the programme. An effort will be made to provide the best possible floor, and an excellent sit-down surper will also be provided; in fact, everything will be of the best, so it may well be called "the dance of the season." During the evening the trophies won during the present season will be presented, and these include three cups, viz., Championship Cup, Handicap Cup, and the Hyde Cup.
-All members of the club are asked to attend at the hall on Thursday afternoon to assist in preparing floor^ decorations, etc.
