MANAIA.

On Tuesday evening the Loyal Manaia Lodge held their fortnightly meeting, a large attendance being present, Bro. H. Milnov in the chair. Two now members were initiated and three proposed. Receipts of evening exceeded £20. A visitation of the members of the Kaponga Lodge attended. After business was completed the lodge went into harmony.
A meeting of the creditors in the estate of Mr D. Penny was held in the Courthouse, Manaia, on Wednesday, 27th inst. There were present Mr C. A. Budge, D.0.A., with his solicitor, Mr R. D. WoKh. The bankrupt was in attendance, Avitli his solicitor, Mr A. G. Bennett, also the following creditors: Messrs C. Davis, J. Hutchinson, Johnston (p^ proxy for Messrs Vickers and Stevens;), Bennett (as proxy for J. Penir), and W. Surgemor. Mr Welsh examined the bankrupt as to the reason of his filing, aftor which Mr Johnson moved that a vote of sympathy be passed with the bankrupt in his trouble and his discbarge facilitated, which was .seoonded by Mr Surgernor and carried.
