As the result of an appeal for funds for bread for those suffering in consequence of unemployment in the Old Country, the sum of £154 15s 3d has been collected here within the last few days. A committee, headed by the Mayor, is organising a monster carnival, to be held on the Carisbrook cricket ground next Thursday night, in aid of the fund.
