THE CHERNIAVSKI TRIO.

The brothers Cherniavski are remarkable in more senses than one. Their youthfulness alone renders their work of exceptional interest. To hear three boys aged 17, 14, and 12 respectively interpret .such masterpieces as usually tax the mental and physical resources of mature musicians with consummate ease and understanding is in itself sufficient to suggest genius. Leo, the eldest of the trio, seems in his mastery of the violin to have left the sense of years behind him, and Jan at the pianoforte to be equally free from the usual impedimenta of youth; while little -Mischel, with his burden of 12 years, is perhaps the most remarkable of all, his handling of the 'cello having established his right to be reckoned with in any programme. The debut of this interesting trio of brothers is awaited with very pleasurable anticipation. Mr Ed word Branscombe, so well known throughout the colonies in connection with the Westminster Glee and Concert Party and the Scarlet Troubadours, is directing the Cherniavski concerts, and Monday, February Ist, hnti hvev. fi\-"d for their appearance in the Opera House, Hawora, for one '••"•ital only. The plan is at Cole and Donnelly's, where day sale tickets may also be obtained.
