[PBESS ASSOCIATION.]
LONDON, March 20.
In the House of Commons, Mr Lloyd Cieorge, President of the Board of Trade, introduced a Bill tto prevent the obstruction of British industrial development by the abuse of patents. In compels foreigners to work their patents, here, and prevents them imposing onerous, conditions on Britishers using their patents.
[Speaking at a Fire Brigade dinner at Wellington last week, the Hon. J. A. Millar said we must insist on having patents manufactured in the colony within a given time. Germany and France were doing it, and now he saw the Mother Country was doing the same thing. Unless this wat* done, the colony must remain the dumping ground for foreign-manufactured patent machinery.]
