A SERIOUS COMPLAINT.
ALLEGED MISUSE OF ABATTOIR TAGS. . At the meeting of the Hawera Borough Council on Wednesday nighCthe abattoir I manager (Mr E. T. B. Worthy) reported what he alleged to be the discovery of a serious abuse of abattoir' tags in .connection wiibh unstamped carcases of pigs that had not been killed' at the abattoir. The report , stated that the .matter had' been f (brought under Mr. Worthy's notice by a tletter from Mi Young, Government Veterinarian at ,New Plymouth, whowflote to rhim stating 'that four > pigs (two- on August ?3 or 4 and 2 on August 17 or 18) ihadi been jreceived by Messrs ;Soie Bros., New Elytntiouth, each pig ibeatfng 6c.
