ANNIVERSARY SERVICES.
The anniversary services in connection with the Methodist Sunday school were held yesterday. Rev. P. Brooke, President of the Confeience, was the preacher for the day. In tho morning he based his remarks on the text, ''A little child shall lead them," pointing out the value placed upon child lifo today compared with the last century. In the afternoon lie spoke on "Ho that bath clean hands shall wax stronger and stronger," and bpoke chiefly to the children, and made his talk of great interest to tho young mind. In the evening the church was well filled. Th* service was based upon the text, "The glory of a young man is bis strength." Rev. Brooke showed that strength was not to be despised. Physical strength will give power to resist disease and help to make a Christian man more able to do the work of God. Strength of mind was more important than strength of body, and our young men needed to teach the mind to work. Then strength of heart, strength of affections, and lastly strength of, soul. It was good for every young man to ally himself with those who will help him to live the highest and noblest life. The singing of the children was much appreciated, and reflected credit upon their conductor, Mr R. L. Hutchens. Three solo parts were capitally rendered by Misses Rita Strack, Bathia Stewart and Eva Young. These services will be continued this evening, when addresses will be given by the President of the Conference and other members. The best of the music will Ice Tepoated by the children, the annual report will be read, and the distribution of prizes will take place.
