ELTHAM BRANCH.
(From Our Own Correspondent.} A general meeting of the Eltham branch! : of the New Zealand Farmers' Union* was , held in the Athenaeum Hall on Saturday. Mr T. 0. Hodgson occupied the chair. A letter was received from the Eltham Fire Brigade, asking the Union to assist the Brigade by running a social in aid of the Fixe Brigade's funds. — Resolved to hold the matter over for a. week, Mr Naughton to interview the captain and secretary in the meantime. Jf?^s& The balance-sheet of the late social,T|||||i in connection with the branch, ehoweaSft^ credit of over £8. — It was decided to pay . over £5 of this amount to the provincial executive funds', and to carry the balance forward for future operations.

It -"Was decided that the secretary and executive should ascertain the quantity of manures and seeds required by members.
Accident insurance. — The Chairman mentioned that arrangements had been com- ' pleted for a considerable ireduotionj|yjh|^ Taibes of accident insurance, with a?lea3s^l Accident Company, and he asked the members of the Union to faithfully stand by the Union in support of this company.. This was all the business.
