SATURDAY'S GAMES.

INTERESTING POSITION CREATED.

The result of last Saturday's games made the fight for the Senior supremacy in this division even more interesting than previously. Patea beat Waimate, Hawera beat Eltham, and Okaiawa were beaten by Opunake, the positions now being: Okaiawa 12, Patea 12, Hawera 11, Waimate 10. There is yet one match to be played by each team, and while Waimate are out of the race, Hawera, Okaiawa, and Patea each, have a chance. Hawera's chance lies in the possibility of Patea and Okaiawa playing a drawn game next Saturday and winning their own match against Opunake. This would bring t!he three teams to even terms — 13 points, whereupon play-off conditions would have to be arranged. Though Patea's chance may appear the brightest, the possibility of a draw resulting nexß' Saturday at Okaiawa is not inconsiderable.
