WOOL, SHEEPSKIN, HIDE, AND TALLOW.
The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report as follows :
At our sale to-day we offered about 1000 skins', 80 bales' wool, 150 hides, and a i quantity of tallow. Then© was a good attendance of buyers, but bidding was irregular for seedy and inferior crutchings. Good prices were obtained for clean light orutohings, fleece wool and sheepskins. Hides were in good demand at late rates. We quote : Wool, inferior coarse crossbred 9£d to lOd, merino stragglers 9d, good clean cnutchaings B£d to Bfd, seedy 6d to 7£d', locks and' pieces 4fd to 7^d. Sheepskins : Merino 9d to 9£d, fine crossbred 9|d to lO^dj coarse crossbred 9£d to 10d, short-woolled crossbred B£d to 9d. Lambskins, B£d to 10£ d, broken and inferior 'skins s£d to 8d per lb. Greenskins from 6s 6d to & 6d, lambs 5s 6d to 6s. Tallow, in casks 22s 3d to 22s 9d, in tins 17s 6d to 18s 6d per cwt. Hides : Sound ox and cow s£d to 6d, slippy and damaged 4£d to sd, calf, sound to 6d, slippy 4d to 5d per lb.
