The S.M. said he bad a general an- • nouncement to make on behalf of the I Committee in regard to some- not allof the country hotels, and that was on the subject of the food supplied, and the manner of serving ir, both of which were open to great exception. Table cloihs were dirty, knives and glasses grimy, and the food badly Rooked, and it was served up and given out as if it were being I thrown to a hungry dog. It was no use ' having handsome buildings if the .^nenii was inferior.' People were .granted' the lucrative privilege of supplying liquor on condition that they also supplied proper fcod and accommodation. ' His remarks did not apply to all. the. country hotel*, some of which were very good. The t Committee desired to add that it was the bounden duty of a landlord to visit bis dining. room from time to time to sf e that things' were being properly conducted. :,-.■''■.* i >
