ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

(PER PRKSS ASSOCIATION.) Auckland, October 14. A fatal accident occurred on Saturday afternoon at a football match between the suburban teams Kingsland and Mount Albert; During the play a young man named Walter Chatwin came into violent collision with another player. Chatwin immediately ran off the field, and fell down in an unconscious state. Medical aid was summoned, but Chatwin died in twenty minutes from the effects of the shock. While Alfred Roid and T. Hearne were working on the Crown Mine tramway at Earangahake a big fall of earth occurred. Hearne escaped with a few bruises, but Reid had his skull split open and was rendered unconscious. He was taken to the Tharheß Hospital, and is now in a critical condition. Wellington, October 14. ■ The body of a man named Woollans, employed by the Petono Woollen Company, was found on the beach at Kaiwarra. It had apparently been in the water two days. Dannevirke, October 15. A young married man named Wardell, a settler in the Ngapaeruru block, accidentally shot himself yesterday. He was leaning on the muzzle of his gun, which went off. The charge, entering his stomach, killed him instantly. Auckland, October 15. It was Walter Chatwin, not Albert Chatwin, who was killed during a football match on Saturday. At the inquest the verdict was accidental death, with no blame attachable to anyone.
