HALF OF JAPANESE TROOPS LEAVE CHINA.
Received October 9, 10.8 a.m. Hong Kong, Ootober 8. Half of the Japanene foroes in China are withdrawing.
Several Japanese trains, said to contain much treasure, have been left in Peking. The Dowager-Empress failed to establish the semblance of a government at Tai-yuen-fu, the mandarins declining to leave Peking.
The Emperor's Edict declares Hinganf v safer and better protected than Tai-yuen-fu for a capital. German newspapers are discussing the possibility of an expedition for the purpose of rescuing the Emperor at Singanfu from his anti-foreign surroundings.
