MARKET VERY FIRM.

LONDON, May 25.

At the wool sales a medium catalogue was offered. Prices remained firm, Continental buyers operating freely. Tbe sales closed with good spirit and very firm; : Good merino was at par, and otber merinoi from £d to £d lower than laßt series. Long coarse crossbred was at par, while other sorts are Id lower. The number of bales catalogued was 309,800, of whiob 124,000 were sold to home buyers, 180,000 for the Continent, and 20,000 for Amerioa. Tbe quantity held ovet was about 70,000 bales.
