Another North Pole Story.
(PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION.)
MELBOURNE, May 23. Baron Yon Mueller, the well-known botanist, has received a German paper called the German and Australian Post, which publishes a statement that the Arctic exploring ship Algir has reached the North Pole, and Baron Mueller is inclined to believe that the information is authentic.
The paper sajs that the North Pole was reached by means of an aluminium boat on wheels. After a long journey in the open water the boat met with a long line of porous rocks running from east to west, and beyond this formation open water was again met. Th« region is said to teem with bird and fish life.
