The strikers have wrecked many cars, and have destroyed a considerable length of permanent way. A meat famine is imminent in towns on tbe Atlantic seaboard, as the grain and cattle trades are at a standstill. Many factories are closing for want of coal. The strikers are endeavoring to j involve the Eastern States in the present dispute, bo as to secure the universal stoppage of traffic. The whole of the Federal army has been placed at the disposal of the judges in order to enable them to enforce order.
