A GBIEVOUS ASSAULT. (PEB PRESS ASSOCIATION.) BRISBANE^ July 4. A woolshed on the Ayrshire Downs station, near Winton, was burned. Shearers who refused to sign the agree* ment set fire to the shed. The manager of tbe station attempted to expostulate, and called on tbe local men. to extinguish tbe fire. About 20 men responded to the call, and were about to take part in extinguishing the flames, bat the non- I unionists covered them with firearms and ordered them away at the peril of their lives. An attempt was also made to burn down the Oondoroo shed, but it was extinguished. While the roll was being called at Oondooroo Station tbe first six men refused to sign the agreement, and the seventh, while about to do so, was felled to the ground. The police, who were present, covered bim with tbeir rifles, and only saved him fiona farther injury by threatening to shoot the first man who advanced.
