(Wanganui Chronicle) 7- We have to acknowledge the receipt of the Star Almanaok acd West Coast Directory for 1894. This is the eleventh edition of the work, and that its popularity has been constantly on the increase may be judged by, the „ fact that the edition before us forms a com- 1 plete directory for the, whole of Palmerston, Feilding, Marton, Wanganui, Hawera, New r < Plymouth, and all the intermediate centres. As a directory alone the edition before us ia a c valuablejjone, but its value is enhanced by the inclusion of useful information for settlers, such as" condensed summaries of important statutes, sporting records, postal and telegraphic guides, and a variety of other equally, useful aad interesting matter. Altogether there are 455 pages in the '94 edition, the printing and arrangement of which reflect great; credit on the energetic printers aud publishers, Messrs lunes & Co., Hawera. (Feilding Star) We Bave to thank the, publishers, Messrs Innes and Co, of Hawera, for a copy of the Star Almanack and West Coast Directory, 1894. It is a most useful book, /tad contains a mass of valuable raformatiojb. (New Zealand Timeff ' The Hawera Star AlmanajT and West Coasi Directory has been; rMplißhed. The work is complete and. well.' Hpt^d, and contains a large quantity' of tuCal information. The directory Js iadispeapile as a work of reference.' " , '"B" (MauawatißTimes) We have to| acknojftdge receipt of the Star Almanackiand DjKctory for 1894. The volume well mc&ntainKhe reputation gained by the proprietary ojftiving gooS value f ot the money. It r.ls rfflete with^ useful information, includmg cv tHe main: features of recent legislative enffstments. (TaWiaki Hearld) We have received a copy of the Hawera Star Almanac, which is as full of matter and as comprehensive as usual. It has been very skilfully compiled, and the directory part, which' takes in all the towns between NewPlymouth and Palmerston North, has been moßt carefully corrected. The book will prove invaluable to the farmer, for it contains information on every subject he requires to know about, and there is even a " Dairyman's Beady Beokoner." The almanao is very neatly printed in good;, legible type, and altogether is a • credit, to the office from which it is issued. ' (Manawata Herald) We acknowledge reoeipt o£ the. Hawera Star Almanao and West Coast Directory for 1894. It is a useful compilation, and should be iv the hands of all business people. We have to acknowledge with thanks the receipt of the Star Almanaok for 1894. It shews, like each of its predecessors, an increase of interesting and instructive matter o£ some forty pages, and is now one of the most useful books of reference for town or country; indeed,' -no but .settler should be without a copy, as he ' will find it a veritable " dictionary of daily wants." Among the latest additions will Jbe found a list of the valuations in local government areas along the whole coast, and also the principal operative clauses of . the Stook Act, Alcoholic Liquors Sale Control Aot of last session, together with the Fencing Act. The direotory covers the district from New Plymouth to Palmerston North and Woodville, and will therefore be found sufficiently comprehensive to suit anyone. It would-be difficult to obtain a more usefully complete work, while very few of such publications can boast of equally careful conipilation,' distinct letter press, and general good gefcup, and the work reflects the greatest .credit upon the office from which it is published. (Bangitikei Advocate) The Star Almanack and West Coast Directory for 1894, a copy of which we hays received from the publisher*, ia, in its general get-up and contents, quite up to the standard of its predecessors.
