4.t our different Bales within the past fortnight we have found an- improvement in the prices of al!.classesa I !. classes of stock, but more especially in dairy cows and heifers. We held an unreserved clearing sale on the 12th inßt. at Mr E. McGlasban'a faun, Okaiawa, all the stock realising good prices, and an unreserved clearing sale on the 16ch mat. at Mr W. T. Wells' farm, Normanby road, which, on account of the cows and heifers being in first class condition, brought high, prices. At our Kaponga sale, on Ist inst,, there was a fair entry of stock, s'\ celling but a few bead, either at tbe hammer or immediately after tbe sale. We quote—2year steers, JB2 8a 6d ; yearling steers, 355 ; calves/ 21s to 27s 6d; store cows, £3 3s to £3 7s6d; forward cows, £3 17s 6d; fat cows,~.£4 6b to SA 10s ; "dairy cows, SA 10s to JBS.IOs ; dairy heifers; &% 15s to SA 12s 6d.' ; ' On the 15th inst. there was a large entry, mostly of dairy heifers, which sold readily. We quote— 24-year steers, SA 53;*2-year : quiet heifeis, JB3 2a 6d to JB3 Ids'; heifers, in crlf, up to £i ; S| to 3year heifers, in calf, £4, to £4, 155 ; dairy . cow's, ; jeit6jE7; store cows, ■ £Z 17s 6dto JB3 7s 6d; oalves, 23s to 30s. At Mr-McGlashan's sale cowa made from £3 sstoJß6 2s6d.
