Sir C. Tupper has convened a meeting of Agents- General and others for Monday to disouss the provision in the new death duties affecting colonial estates.
Scotch bankers and merchants are petitioning the Premier and Sir W. V. Harcourt in favor of a penny postage. They urge tbat the Marquis of Dnfferin, Lords Carrington and Churchill should be sent as British Envoys to negotiate witb the colonies.
Three hundred piotures have been promised on loan to the Hobart Exhibition. Two hundred and fifty British and 150 French, Belgian, and German exhibitors re negotiating for space.

He moved amendment, That this House regrets Parliament was not called together earlier to deal with ; depression and tbe question .of unemployed. Mr Deakin seconded the amendment. Sir J. Patterson, Premier defended the Ministry, and urged members not to be governed by the press as previous Governments bad been. Tha debate was adjourned.
