NEW YORK, January 6.

The trouble in connection with tbe lynching affair at Bakersville bas assumed a most serious aspect. In all 42 people have been killed, among the number being the Sheriff, while the list of wounded reaches 40. Three prisoners were lynched by tbe mob, who are now in possession of the town, and the troops will probably be sent to qnell the disturbance. The prisoners were deliberately shot on the way to execution.
