WELLINGTON, January 4.
Tbe Land Board this morning gave its decision in tbe enquiry held at Palmereton North last month with reference to the application for transfers from several selectors in connection wilh the Palmerston North Hooießtead Association. The board were unanimously of opinion that tbe selectors bad tried to override the provisions of tbe Land Act, 1892, and ordered tbe forfeiture of lands and fees in connection with the applications, and also passed a vote of cenßure on tbe chairman, secretary, and treasurer of the association for tbeir conduct in the matter.
CHRISTCHURCH, January 5. In the obees tournament, Siedberg muet win first place, as he has won seven games and drawD one. Second and third places lie between Hookham (five won, two lost, and one drawn), Barnes (five won and three lost), and Eyre (four won three lest, and one drawn).
