Coming Poverty in England.

(Per Mail Steamer.) A correspondent of the San Francisco Examiner telegraphs from London on October 26th that a great banger will soon invade Great Britain and that signs of Us coming are everywhere. Thousands of skilled workmen are idle and the work* ing forces are beiDg out down gradually. The dooka are half deserted. "I took a cab," be says, "the otber day from Holboro to Bayswater ; my luggage was on the top. Two men followed the vehicle on foot almost the whole distance of three miles in the hope of earning a few penoe by handling the Inggage ; they ran at a brisk trot alongside and reaohed the destination so much exhausted that they were nnable at first to carry the trunks into the house. Their weakness was so extreme and pallor of their faces so unnatural after the violent exercise, that they were questioned and it wa« found that they both bad families and tbat neither had tasted food that day. The army of the unemployed is bo large that no vehicle bearing laggag* drives through the streets of London without being followed by some poor fellow seeking a few coins for food or drink. Coroners have investigated several cases of actual death by starvation last montb. The distress is sure to be acute and widespread, and there will be many pitiful tales to make Christmas more a holiday of Badness than of gladness."
