COMMERCIAL. BUTTER MARKET.
Mr. Newton King reports : — I am pleased to report that very satisfactory news has been received by cable from London, as to results of tbe Rimutaka and Coptic shipments, five large parcels averaging, from 85a to 918 6d per cwt. These prices, though considerably lower than those realised by tlie trial shipment, are, nevertheless, satisfactory on tne whole. I regret to say, however, that great difficulty has been experienced in procuring space in both the Arawa and Tongariro, and I am afraid that the majority of shippers from this district have been shut out. This will probably cause a very depressing effect upon the market, as these vessels are the last to leave in time to catch the London market before the spring butter comes in, and at present tre have no other outlet.
