Final Payment : Egmont Handicap, 2 soys., at the post. Weights will be declared on Thursday, 12th January, 1888. RULES AND REGULATIONS. All Nonrinationr., Weights, Acceptances, and Entries will close at the Hon. Secretary's Office at 9 p.m , unless otherwise specified in programme. No entry will be received for any race except upon this condition — that nil disputes, claims, and objections arising out of the racing shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or those whom they may appoint. Their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final. All entries to be sealed and addressed to the Hon. Secretary, Hawera, entrance money enclosed, with name, ago at time of entry, pedigree, and, in Lhf> case of handicaps, performances of the horse, name of the owner, and colors of tbe rider. Any jockey riding excepti n tbe colors eutered will be fined 2 soys. When two or more horses start, the property of the same owner, a distinguishing color must be worn. All persons intending to withdraw horses are required to give notice to that effect to the Hon. Secretary or Clerk of the Scales one half-hour before starting. Any person neglecting or refusing to comply witn'such rule shall pay a fine of 5 soys. to the race fund. All races to be run under the Taranaki Jockey Club rules. Horses walking over will only receive half the stakes. No nomination or acceptance will be received on any pretence whatever, unless actually accompanied by the necessary amount payable ; the attention of Owners is particularly called to this Regulation.
