CRICKET. HAWERA v. MANAIA.

The first club match of the season was played on Saturday. Small scores were the order of the day ; but the weather was fine, and an enjoyable game was played. The ground was rough and very lumpy, which sadly interfered with good batting. For the visitors, Glenn played well ; and for the home team, Shove, of Manutabi, promises to be a strong member. Hawera team was decidedly stronger in bowling and in the field than Manaia.

The first innings resulted in a tie, bat in the second innings Hawera scored the game with the loss of two wickets, thus winning by nine wiokets.
