It is a surprisiu&ly creditable production for a Bmall town like Hawera, and the compilers and printers may reasonably feel satisfied with their work. The almanack contains a great variety of the most useful information, and consists of no fewer thnn 261 pages, not including advertisements. — "Wellington Press. The Star Almanack for this year, printed nnd published by Messrs. Inne3 and Co., of Hawera would do credit to finy of the large offices in the principal commercial centres of the colony. Compiled with ability nnd care, adapted to the wants of everyone, and containing 261 pages of printed matter omitting advertisements, the Star Almanack should find a place in erery household throughout the district in which it is published. — Wanganui Chronicle. We acknowledge receipt from Messrs. lures and Co., of a copy of the Stab Aljia>-ac* for 1887. As usual, the publication contains much useful information, aud should be found very valuable by every settler along this coast. It contains very correct directories of the towns of New Plymouth, Waitara, etc, as well as Hawera, Norniauby, aud other places. Every year this valuable almanack shows marked j improvement, aud we must congratulate the pub- 1 Ushers on this evidence of success. The ahnaua^k is printed in first-class style, on excellent paper, and we can safely say that the general " get up " is equal to that of any similar publication in the Colony.— Taranaki News. Wo hare to acknowledge with thanks the receipt from the publishers, of a copy of the Star Almanack. It is impossible to gire nuything like an adequate idea of the real utility of the work, for it contains 261 pages et matter, exclusive of advertisements, and every piiffe conveys some use/ul information to the render. In fact it is rapidly becoming a settler's vade mecum, and can give points to any almanack published oil this coast.— Patea Mail. We have to acknowledge receipt at the Hawbka Stab Almanack for 1887. This Almanack, which is Jmblished by Messrs. limes * Co., of Hawera, has ong enjoyed a reputation for being carefully compiled, and we notice that the new edition is full of useful information. — Wellington Post. The Star Almanack for 1887, a copy of which has been sent us, is a very neatly printed and somewhat bulky publication containing a larjfe amount of information on all sorts of subjects. It should ensure a large sale, and we hope the enterprising proprietors will be recouped for the outlay they must have gone to in the getting of it up.— Tuaaaki H«rald
