It is a surprisingly creditable productiou for a small town like Hawera, and the compilers and printers may reasonably fuel satisfied with their work. As usual, the publication contains mneh useful information, and should bo found very valuable by every settler along this coast. It contains very correct directories of the towns of New Plymouth, Waitara, etc, as well as Hawera, Normanfoy, aud other places. Every year this valuable almanack shojys marked improvement, and we must congratulate the publishers on this evideuce of success. The almanack is printed in first-class style, on excellent jiaper, and we can safely say that the general " get up "is equal to that of any similar publication in the Colony. — Taranaki News. We have to acknowledge with tliauks the receipt from the publishers, of a copy of tUo Star Auuk. ACK. It is impossible to any thing li^e sui adequate idea of the real utility of the work, for it contains 261 pages of matter, exclusive of advertisements, and every page conveys some useful information to the reader. In fact it is rapidly fcecoming a settler's vadc mecum, and can give points to any almanack published on this coast.— Pa tea Mail. The Stab Almahack for 1887, v copy of which has been sent us, is a very neatly printed and somewhat bulky publication containing a large i amount of information on all sorts of feubfects.
