Opinions of The Press. We have 'beeu favored with a copy of the Stab Almanack for 1887. It is a surprisingly creditable production for a small town like Hawera, aud the compilers aud printers may reasonably feel satisfied with their work. The almanack contains a great variety of the most useful information, aud consists of no fewer than 261 pages, not including advertisements.— "Wellington Press. The Star Almanack for this year, printed and published by Messrs. Innes and Co.. of Hawera would do credit to any of the large offices ia the l>rincipal commercial centres of the colony. Compiled with ability and care, adapted to the wants of everj-oue, nnd containing 261 pages of printed matter omitting advertisements, the Star Ai.atA.KACK sliould find a place in every household thronyrhout tlie district in which it is published. — Waagjimu Chronicle. We acknowledge receipt from Messrs. lures and Co., of a copy of the Star Almanack for 1887. As usuil, the publication contains much useful information, and should be found vez-y valuable by every settler along this coast. It contains very correct directories of the towns of New Plymouth, Waitara, etc, as well as Hawera, Normanby, aud other places. Every year this valuable almanack shows marked improvement, aud we must congratulate the publishers on this evidence of success. The almanack is printed in first-class style, ou excellent pai>er, aad we can safely say that the general " get up " is equal to that of any similar publication in the Colony.— Taranaki News. We have to acknowledge with thanks the receipt from the publishers, of a copy of the Stab Almanack. It is impossible to give anything like au adequate idea of the real utility of the work, for it contains 281 pages of matter, exclusive of advertisements, and every page conveys bomo useful information to the reader. In fact it is rapidly .becoming a settler's va.de mecum, and can give points to nay almanack published on this coast. — Putea Hail. I
