♦ | Per Press Association. 1 ' "CHRISTCHURCH, January 26. ' ' At an inquest on Schouruys' body this morning, Dr. Thomas deposed that the deceased's liver was much diseased. No sign's of poison could be detected. Another witness stated that he had been very unwell lately, and was much depressed by the. hot weather. He purchased chloral on Monday, bat no trace of the bottle can be found. The verdict was natural causes, propably accelerated by an overdose of chloral. Last -night Lane, second cook of the Eimutaka, fell off the gangway, and was. drowned.
